Join us at the Fort for a day of exploration, discovery and fun at our African American History Festival on Saturday, February 15th, 2025, from 10AM to 3PM. As we celebrate Black History, we will be offering engaging exhibits by local, state and national institutions, informative presentations by the descendant of Robert Abbott (LaTonya Abbott), Park Ranger presentation on the Network to Freedom, and insight on the history of the Ring Shout by Melanie Zeck (Library of Congress) and Griffin Lotson (Geechee Gullah Ring Shouters). Experience a dynamic live performance by the Geechee Gullah Ring Shouters! This fantastic event is free and open to the public!
